The beautifully designed 19,000-square-foot Independence Grove Visitors Center is situated along the east shore of the Preserve's 115-acre lake. The facility offers a spacious interior with a classroom, nature, history and traveling exhibits and a Café with indoor and outdoor service. Walls of windows offer panoramic views of the lake and Preserve.

The Visitors Center can be rented for weddings and other private celebrations, corporate meetings and retreats, and community functions. The picturesque Millennia Plaza, with surrounding amphitheater, fountain and native garden makes an ideal setting for a variety of special programs, events and outdoor celebrations.

 
Location
The Independence Grove Forest Preserve and Visitors Center are located in central Lake County near Libertyville.
The entrance and parking area for the Independence Grove Visitors Center is located on Buckley Road (Route 137) east of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21).
